While reporting a story about a perilous tree in St. Louis, KSDK reporter Mike Rush visited the property owner. The receptionist at Roberts Brothers Properties chose an unusual method of avoiding an interview: She hid under her desk for 30 minutes, Rush reports. Here’s a short version of the video, which is running on many Gannett-owned stations’ websites.


In the full package, anchor Mike Bush says Roberts Brothers has interests in hotels and television. The company owns hotel interests as well as WRBU-TV in St. Louis, Rush said in an email Wednesday. Roberts Cos. declared bankruptcy in October 2011 and sold one of its stations last month.
