“I just want to do my job, which is bringing you the news,” says Kurt Ludlow in a video. Ludlow was an anchor at WBNS-TV in Columbus, Ohio, before he lost his job this past May. His attorney, Mark R. Weaver, says Ludlow has received an offer from another Columbus TV station, but WBNS is blocking the move.

Weaver says Ludlow has filed an action in a Franklin County, Ohio, court. He and his team are now using the crowdfunding site GoFundMe to try to raise $20,000 for what Ludlow’s friend Bill Adrion calls the Ludlow Defense Fund.

Last November former St. Louis anchor Larry Conners lost an appeal to return to local airwaves when a judge refused to strike a noncompete provision from his contract with KMOV-TV.
