Russ Stanton is joining the communications firm G.F. Bunting + Co., Abby Sewell reports in the Los Angeles Times. Stanton most recently oversaw the newsroom at KPCC, which he left in June. He was editor of the Los Angeles Times for four years.

When Stanton left KPCC, “he said only that he was going to an ‘opportunity to help build a fast-growing communications business in the commercial, for-profit space,'” Kevin Roderick writes in LA Observed. “I guess this qualifies.”

Bunting founder Glenn Bunting worked at the L.A. Times for 22 years, according to his online bio. As LAT reporter James Rainey points out on Twitter, Bunting’s firm currently represents Shelly Sterling.
