American Customer Satisfaction Index

The American Customer Satisfaction Index announced Tuesday that consumers were less satisfied with pay TV and Internet service providers than with any other industries.

The ACSI shows how those industries stack up against others. “Internet News and Information” does much better than ISPs’ or cable companies’ benchmarks: Web news even edges out the U.S. Postal Service in terms of consumer experience (though it’s exactly as satisfying as health insurance).

2014 figures for the Internet News category won’t be released until this summer. Diving deeper into last year’s numbers, FoxNews.com in 2013 got the highest consumer satisfaction score among peers that include ABC News, The New York Times and CNN’s respective websites. The Huffington Post came in last.

Internet Social Media” gave consumers less satisfaction than wireless telephone service or airlines, the index says.
