Jill Abramson, ex-executive editor of The New York Times, will teach undergraduate narrative nonfiction courses at Harvard, Ravi Somaiya reports in the Times. She’ll be a “visiting lecturer in the Department of English for the 2014-15 academic year.”
During a commencement address at Wake Forest the Monday after her May ouster, Abramson spoke about her uncertain future: “What’s next for me? I don’t know. So I’m in exactly the same boat as many of you.”
Now she’ll be landing on her feet this fall at Harvard, her alma mater.
At the Wake Forest speech, Abramson said she met with graduates, one of whom asked whether she’d get her famous Times “T” tattoo removed in light of the controversial exit. Her response: “Not a chance.”
Somaiya points out Abramson has a Harvard “H” tattoo, too.
Correction: An earlier version of this piece misspelled Ravi Somaiya’s last name on second reference.
