The Tennessean will downsize its newsroom, eliminating management positions and will add “more reporters and columnists and a larger investigative team” as part of a restructuring effort, Blake Farmer wrote for Nashville Public Radio Tuesday.
“Ultimately, the newsroom will shrink by 15 percent. Currently, the headcount is at 89. There are 76 positions on the new org chart.”
Earlier today, executive editor Stefanie Murray wrote that the paper was “embarking on an ambitious project to create the newsroom of the future,” and that “every job in the newsroom is being redefined.”
