Newsweek’s Leah McGrath Goodman, who wrote the cover story unmasking (maybe?) the founder of Bitcoin on Thursday, responded Friday to comments from Tina Brown and spoke about Newsweek and where she hopes the story will go next.
Brown spoke on Bloomberg TV Friday morning and said “I’m so glad I’m not the editor” of Newsweek. Goodman said, “I find her comment not to be very friendly to Newsweek and I have a problem with the way she spoke about it.”
Goodman also spoke about the story, which involved “months of obsessive reporting.” She said she reached out several times to Dorian Satoshi Nakamoto before he went silent.
“Where will we be Monday morning, besides beating you to death by the Bitcoin supporters?” Tom Keene asked Goodman.
“Well, I hope not, I hope I’m not getting beaten to death,” Goodman replied.
