  1. Rupert Murdoch, who emigrated to America, wrote an editorial calling for immigration reform and a “a path to citizenship.” (The Wall Street Journal) His chief of staff tweeted a picture of him working on it:


  2. St. Louis Post-Dispatch replaces George Will’s column with Michael Gerson‘s.   3. Jared Paul Stern talks about the messy way his job as a gossip columnist ended in 2006, with allegations of extortion. “I don’t see that the ethics of The New York Post would have prevented that situation,” he says. (The New York Observer)

Gerry Lenfest is now the sole owner of The Philadelphia Inquirer, the Philadelphia Daily News and Philly.com. “Of all the other things I’ve been involved in, they pale in comparison to the opportunity of placing the newspapers in the right hands, and bringing back the editorial excellence of the Inquirer and the Daily News,” he says.   10. Angie Martinez has left NYC’s Hot 97 (WQHT). “A tweet featuring smiling emojis from Hot 97’s rival station, Clear Channel-owned Power 105.1, suggests that Martinez may take her popular afternoon show to their station.” (BuzzFeed)
  11. Ken Doctor replies to Clay Shirky, who wrote that Doctor and CJR’s Ryan Chittum pulled punches while covering the Orange County Register. Shirky replies to Chittum (who hasn’t yet replied to Shirky, except on Twitter). This could conceivably go on for a while.
