Yemen
Freelance journalist Adam Baron was deported from Yemen, Michael Calderone reported in Huffington Post Thursday.
Baron regularly writes for the McClatchy newspaper chain and the Christian Science Monitor.
James Asher, the Washington bureau chief for McClatchy, confirmed to HuffPost that he has been deported and that Baron “believes the deportation is about his journalism.”
Baron tweeted Thursday evening from Cairo.
3-Obviously, the past few days have been far from enjoyable and damn confusing.

4-The only official explanation I have received for my deportation is that I am “no longer welcome in Yemen.”

5-Obviously, I am completely devastated by my forced departure from Yemen; it kills me that I was unable even to say proper goodbyes.

Baron, who has been in Yemen since 2011, was one of just a few journalists covering Yemen from inside the country, Calderone reported.
