Wall Street Journal homepage down as New York Stock Exchange halts
The Wall Street Journal on Wednesday redirected readers to a temporary site as the staff worked to restore access to its full homepage.
A message to readers at the top of the temporary site advised readers that WSJ.com is having "technical difficulties" and that the regular site will return soon.
The homepage outage comes at an inopportune time for the Journal, which is well known for its coverage of financial news. At around the same time that the page stopped loading, the New York Stock Exchange suspended trading due to an apparent technical problem.
In a statement to Poynter, a spokesperson for the newspaper said staffers are "working to be back up as quickly as possible."
Update, 12:46 p.m.: The Wall Street Journal's full homepage now displays correctly.
