Allan Beaufour, the former chief technology officer at web analytics company Chartbeat, has been appointed senior vice president of engineering at The New York Times.

Beaufour, who will be responsible for data infrastructure across the The New York Times Company in addition to APIs and content management, will report to chief technology officer Nick Rockwell, according to a release from The New York Times.

Before joining The New York Times, Beaufour was head of engineering at Sum, a healthcare startup, according to the release. He was one of the first employees at Chartbeat, according to his LinkedIn profile, where he helped grew the fledgeling company into a well-known industry brand.
