No, seriously.

2016 has given journalists a lot of news that has been tough to cover: A long election, police killings in Dallas, a mass shooting in Orlando and, most recently, the loss of a beloved journalist. There’s also been the relentless dripdripdrip of layoffs and declining ad sales.

But next week, regardless of what they’ve personally faced this year, a lot of families will take a moment before or during their meals to talk about what they’re thankful for. It’s a good tradition that we’re going to try here, too.

What are you thankful for this year in your career, work or this industry? Let me know via Twitter, email or in the comments, and I’ll collect them all in time for Thanksgiving.
