For almost two years, most of Poynter’s staff has been talking to one another — and sending emoji, memes and animations — using Slack, the addictive messaging app that has colonized newsrooms around the world.

In addition to distracting us from work, Poynter’s Slack Team has also become a watercooler where we chat about the changing business of journalism, help each other out with projects and share observations (and lots of GIFs) with one another.

We thought we’d let you in on the fun. If you’re a journalist who loves journalism, are seeking professional advice or just looking to connect to other rad journalists, we’ve created a members-only Slack team just for you. It’s a place to talk media news, ask questions and connect with special guests on a variety of topics.

You can sign up for membership here. If you have questions, drop us a line at members@poynter.org.

Support high-integrity, independent journalism that serves democracy. Make a gift to Poynter today. The Poynter Institute is a nonpartisan, nonprofit organization, and your gift helps us make good journalism better.
