Sam Biddle, the Gawker Media writer who earned plaudits and drew ire for skewering Silicon Valley powerbrokers and Gamergate supporters as editor of Valleywag, is joining The Intercept, he announced on Twitter Monday.

At The Intercept, a muckraking website covering national security, Biddle will resume his coverage of Silicon Valley. During his recent stint at Gawker, Biddle was part of that overhauled website’s ambition to chronicle the 2016 election.

The announcement comes days after Gawker announced it was declaring bankruptcy to protect its assets in the wake of multiple lawsuits orchestrated by vengeful Silicon Valley billionaire Peter Thiel.
