You can't win
Posted by Erin Schultz 11/9/2009 6:58:45 PM

You can't win in this situation. The only thing to do is accept these folks' criticism and allow its inaccuracies and lunacy to speak for themselves. Several years ago, the "John and Ken" show repeatedly aired my name, newspaper and phone number and encouraged listeners to complain about my staff's coverage of immigration. They said ludicrous, slanderous things on the show, in my voice mail and in e-mails to my bosses. Most people who knew my work or lived in town, even those who thought our stories could be better, saw that these attacks were the work of inane bullies. If you have a record of being fair and accurate, don't blow your credibility by letting fools rattle you.
