yeah, give the core readership less coverage of sporting events that interest them. (2009 World Series ratings up 36 percent year to year). distance your "brand" from that sort of thing. and use AP - sure, that's wotking out great going forward. why do you need bylines at all? genius.

Couldn't agree with this guy more. Why sports "journalists" think they have this god-given right to travel to every sporting event known to mankind is beyond me. Here's what newspapers should do to save money: HAVE THE AP COVER IT FOR YOU. They are more than qualified to tell you who won and by what score. What makes newspapers think THEY must be there to get it right???
