Barbara Selvin

Barbara Selvin is an assistant professor of journalism at Stony Brook University’s School of Journalism. She teaches reporting and newswriting, community journalism and grammar, and a course she created on the changing news industry. She’s also the school’s internship coordinator. Before becoming an educator, she was a reporter for Newsday and New York Newsday, covering real estate for the New York edition and health care for the Long Island flagship.
