Helen Karakoudas

I came back to the newsroom in June 2003, after a longer-than-expected mommy track: 18 years. I couldn't be happier to be back, I wrote on my first post here.
I re-entered this business as an intern at a metro daily. Five years later, I was hired by a chain of community weeklies as managing editor. There is hope in this industry.
I couldn't be happier to be working on making sure we never write the obit for good storytelling.
