Rebecca Catalanello works the late shift, covering crime and breaking news in the Tampa bureau of the St. Petersburg Times. A newspaper reporter since 1998, Catalanello covered K-12 education for the Charleston Daily Mail and the Mobile Press-Register before joining the Times in 2003 as Pasco County education reporter. She moved to Tampa night crime in 2005, after three life-changing weeks covering the aftermath of a hurricane that decimated the Gulf Coast, and her hometown of New Orleans. She is an alumna of Poynter's 1998 Summer News Reporting & Writing Fellowship for Recent College Graduates.
