News Sites Highlight Big Three Bailout Bid
Headlines and photographs about the Senate dropping the Big Three's bailout bid dominated most of Friday's home pages, as did stories about Caylee Anthony, a child who went missing in Florida last June. The story of her disappearance re-entered the spotlight Thursday after the remains of a small child were found near Anthony's grandparent's home.

The New York Times led with a more uplifting story highlighting the 100th birthday of Elliott Carter, the dean of American composers. The piece was a welcomed reprieve from the recent breadth of stories about political scandals and economic woes. In addition to the written story, the Times published an excerpt from the premiere of Carter's "Interventions," as well as an audio interview with Carter.
