Online Revenue Overtaking Print at Forbes?
Posted by Peter Zollman at 10:52 AM on May 4, 2005
How long will it take before online revenues at a newspaper or magazine exceed print? According to Jim Spanfeller, president and CEO of Forbes.com, the online component of the venerable print magazine probably will bring in more revenue than the print edition in less than two years. At least, that's what this article on B-to-B Online quotes Spanfeller as saying.

Reed Business Information already gets 15 percent of its revenue from online, with margins that are "clearly superior" to print. And Jeffrey Klein of 101Communications said online properties that are affiliated with either offline events or print titles perform better than purely online products. (Via PaidContent.org.)
