News Uses for Google Maps
Posted by Steve Outing at 6:47 PM on Aug. 9, 2005
I've been mentioning advertising and editorial uses for the Google Maps API recently. Well, here's another editorial experiment using Google Maps for news by the website of the Times Herald-Record in Middletown, New York.

The site's editors have used a Google map injected with editorial content on these two stories:
Bear attacks camper
SUNY Orange ponders Newburgh's potential

Thanks to William Sullivan for pointing these out. I'd like to see how other news organizations have used the Google Maps API for editorial purposes. Send me an e-mail and I'll share your information on this blog in the future.
