Ira Glass and Amy Dickinson say that in the published versions of their interviews in the New York Times Magazine, Deborah Solomon made up questions, after the fact, to match answers that, at least in one instance, she had taken out of their original context. "The conversations I had with Glass and Dickinson transformed a human interest story [about Solomon] into an examination of the questionable ethical choices one very prominent reporter made on behalf of the nation's top newspaper," writes Matt Elzweig. A Times spokeswoman defends Solomon, saying her Q-and-A column "reflects accurately the gist of the whole conversation and contains actual quotes, both questions and answers." || Russert complained, too. || (PDF version of the story.)(PDF version of the story.)
