Michael Miner got in touch with his Medill contacts after reading
David Spett's
piece about Medill dean
John Lavine (left) using quotes from
unnamed sources. Miner writes: "Some of [the faculty] suspected the quotes were bogus, but beyond grousing among themselves they did nothing to act on their suspicions." One tells Miner: "There are people on the faculty who are very nervous," and they weren't ready to challenge Lavine's integrity over something like this.
