After hearing that
Jane Gross is leaving the Times, I e-mailed the 60-year-old reporter for confirmation. "I am indeed taking the buyout," she writes. "It's a very nice package given the industry's struggles. Also the subject that I've been writing about for the last four years -- the frail elderly and their adult children now caring for them -- has attracted huge reader interest, is something I've become very passionate about and intend to turn into a book. Also, the NYT and I are currently talking about ways for me to stay involved there on contract." ||
MediaBistroNY: John Noble Wilford is taking the buyout, too. ||
NY Observer: James Bandler is leaving the Wall Street Journal for Fortune.
