Scott Wright, who planned to close the papers Jan. 16, says Schroeder "came into this situation very recently and demonstrated a thorough knowledge of the business." The new owner was with Newsday for 15 years and was publisher of BostonNOW, a free commuter daily that folded last April. || Read the
