USA Today
An examination of about 100 of the 720 stories that ex-USA Today reporter Jack Kelley wrote from 1993 to 2003 found that Kelley's journalistic sins were "sweeping and substantial," writes Blake Morrison. He's accused of fabricating parts of stories, lifting quotes and lying in speeches. Kelley insists he's done nothing wrong. USA Today publisher Craig Moon says: “As an institution, we failed our readers by not recognizing Jack Kelley’s problems. For that I apologize." Other USA Today stories:
> Paper finds woman who Kelley wrote was swallowed by the sea
> "Kelley could not have seen three men decapitated" in Jerusalem
> Kelley couldn't have reported 2002 story from Ghulam Khan, Pakistan
