Huntsville Times
Huntsville Times editor Melinda Gorham was taken aback by the tone of Paul Gattis' Monday column on college football rankings. "It stung as I considered the volume and the validity of criticisms of the writer, the sports department, the newspaper," she writes. "It stings today because I can't take back what was probably written during one writer's bruised, end-of-season weariness. Sadly, the psyches of many local football fans and readers are bruised. And in some cases, readers' weariness has turned to anger."
