Unhappy with a Detroit News story, a ranking General Motors manager sent a Los Angeles Times column to the News' Daniel Howes and wrote: "It's kind of sad that we have to look to the Los Angeles Times for a rational discussion of GM's situation." That was in January. Last week GM pulled its ads from the LAT. GM'S PR GUY WRITES: "Needless to say, this has not been a popular decision with those who would prefer to portray this as a 'battle' or 'war' in which one side wins and the other loses. It makes for good copy with lots of conflict."
