Jeff Sykes resigned as Reidsville (NC) Review managing editor Thursday after two of his reporters invented quotes and lifted photos for a "Two Cents Worth" person-on-the-street feature. The reporters, Brook R. Corwin and Michael Pucci, also resigned. Sykes learned of the reporters' actions earlier this month but didn't fire them because "I was trying be compassionate." (Read the publisher's letter to readers.)
