Why Is Poynter Charging for These Services?Poynter's nonprofit status provides some cushion from the pressures facing many of the news organizations we serve. But it doesn't insulate us from those economic realities. We want to serve you, and we need your help to do so.
In addition to the $100 membership fee, we ask a voluntary $100 donation when you've accomplished whatever career goal you set for yourself. You decide the timing. Whenever it happens, we'll inscribe a brick with your name on it to acknowledge your gift -- and
we'll embed it in the Poynter courtyard like those shown here as a public declaration of your commitment to journalism.
