Mindy McAdams, who teaches online journalism at the University of Florida, led a discussion about teaching students to tell stories using multimedia tools during this week's live educator chat.

She answered a variety of questions during the chat, including:

--Do you think multimedia tools should be incorporated into virtually every Jschool class, or is it better to approach multimedia storytelling as a separate class? Or both?

--Where do you see writing skills fitting in here? My perception is that many students need to work quite a bit to improve their writing to get it up to professional standards. What is the balance between writing and digital skills?

--Do you try to integrate social media tools into your digital storytelling classes or do you keep them separate?
