Archived Chat: How Do I Take a Hands-on Approach to Teaching Hyperlocal Journalism?
By Ellyn Michele Angelotti (More articles by this author)
Interactivity Editor and Adjunct Faculty

In this week's educators chat Thursday, Oct. 15, at 1 p.m. EDT, join Temple University's Chris Harper and Linn Washington for a conversation about Philadelphia Neighborhoods, the hands-on hyperlocal journalism project they lead.

Each year, they work with more than 160 students in the university's Multimedia Urban Reporting Lab to create interactive storytelling content for a handful of Web sites such as Your Community Voice, Ponte Al Dia and West Philly News

Twitterers can tweet their questions or related thoughts in advance to #poynterchats. You can revisit this link at any time to replay the chat after it has ended.
