One year ago, journalists recorded the first chapters in the history of Hurricane Katrina. 

Since then, many others have shared their own perspectives by publishing books on what Time magazine called "the storm that changed America."

Poynter Online has compiled a list of a few of these books. Authors range from historian Douglas Brinkley and scientist Ivor Van Heerden to photographer Chris Jordan and the U.S. House of Representatives.

The work of journalists also appear with titles from Jed Horne and Chris Rose (The Times-Picayune), the staffs of CNN, The Dallas Morning News, The Sun Herald and others.

Below is a list of the publications that we have found. But it is by no means exhaustive. Please add your own suggestions here.
