Year-in-Photos Packages Make Good Browsing
Posted by Regina McCombs at 2:31 PM on Dec. 30, 2008
One of my favorite things about the end of the year wrap-ups is always the photo packages, and today there were plenty to see. The national standout this year for me is The New York Times, with its stunning display of photographs from the year, organized by topic, and viewable in full screen. It's a great way to present some terrific photography. Other national package worth a look include MSNBC, in what has become a standard, but effective, presentation, and the Christian Science Monitor's year in review package, which does a lovely job of bundling up its major multimedia projects from the year. There's also the best of The Washington Post.

Locally, I like how the Orlando Sentinel is displaying links to the year-in-review photo galleries in a strip across the front, and the Austin American-Statesman created a lovely navigation to show off individual photographer's work from the year. If you're interested in multimedia highlights from around the country this year, take a look at some of my personal favorites.
