MSNBC says bow ties are making a comeback.
The New York Times points out that sales on eBay jumped 34 percent from December 2007 to February 2008. An online seller,
www.bowties.com, says sales have been strong throughout the last two years.
Nelson Poynter, who founded The Poynter Institute, would be proud.
I wonder what would happen if
you outfitted powerful tie-wearing people in your town with bow ties. Would lawyers dare wear one into court? How would juries react? (I bet a
jury consultant would have an opinion.)
Other than Poynter, Sen. Paul Simon, Franklin Delano Roosevelt, Winston Churchill, Sen. Daniel Patrick Moynihan and Pee Wee Herman, can you think of other famous people who wear/wore bow ties?
