The Association of Health Care Journalists just released a survey of its members that documents journalists' frustration with how the U.S. Food and Drug Administration (FDA) responds to Freedom of Information Act requests. Only one-third of those surveyed said the FDA was able to provide the information they requested within the required 20 days. As a result, stories got held or even went unpublished. Some journalists say they have waited years for information.
