Why Does the Pope Wear Red Shoes?
I don't know about you, but I am diggin'
the red leather shoes that Pope Benedict XVI wore during his American trip. What's with those kicks?
National Public Radio interviewed Lawrence Cunningham, professor of theology at the University of Notre Dame, to hear more about the theological significance of the color red. Traditionally, red commemorates the blood of martyrdom and is identified with the Holy Spirit, Cunningham said.
