The Associated Press points out that school lunch monitors are enforcing new restrictions on how much food kids can scoop onto their plates:
With food and fuel costs on the rise, school systems across the country are increasing the prices for lunches, modifying menus, paring down portions and making sure kids aren't wasting food.
"We have cards above our food and it tells them that they can have one scoop of this or that and the ladies are monitoring them each day as they go through the line," Wetumpka Intermediate cafeteria manager Charlene Fausnight said.
