When Googling Works and Newspaper Sites Don't

I spotted an article in my local newspaper this week from the Philadelphia Inquirer about "telework" -- people who work from their homes, the latest version (with a twist) of "how do we overcome offshoring?"

Sharon Hill, a colleague of mine, wrote the book, literally, about telework, so I wanted to send her the article. It's syndicated content, so it's not likely to be on the site of my hometown paper. So I went to Philly.com and searched for it.

You guessed it: It's not there. Or at least when I searched for it in their search box, it didn't come up. (You can only search Philly.com articles for the last seven days.)

Next step? Google.

I typed in exactly the same search command, and -- yup, you guessed it again -- up comes the article. From Philly.com.

Is something wrong with this picture? Indeed.
