Creativity Break: Check Out the Online News Award Finalists

Borgman Notes

Editorial cartoonist Jim Borgman's blog, an OJA award finalist, today features scans from his notebook.
OK, I know Jim Romanesko already beat me to this announcement, but I think it merits a bit more detail...

The Online News Association has just announced the finalists for its 2006 awards competition. This list includes nearly 20 categories, each with several finalists, and live links to the content entered by each.

If you want to spend some time seeing some of the best that online news has to offer, go check out the links to the finalists. A lot of creativity there.

I was especially happy to see that one of the finalists for the "Online Commentary: Large" category was BorgBlog, the blog by longtime Cincinnati Enquirer editorial cartoonist Jim Borgman. It's not often that a blog features such visually compelling content as scans of pages from a cartoonist's notebook (see above).

The winners will be announced at the 2006 OJA conference, October 6-7 in Washington DC.
