Wheee... News on Your Wii

Today's youth boxing via Wii. But will they want to get their news there, too?
The Associated Press signed a deal with Nintendo to put news and weather on the Wii, the popular broadband-enabled game console from Nintendo. On Jan. 27, Ninento launched the Wii News Channel, free to Wii users. It can now be found on the Wii console's main menu. News stories on the channel carry AP branding -- and no ads.

On Jan. 26, MediaPost quoted AP's Jane Seagrave as saying, "It's an interesting application that gets us in front of probably non-traditional customers."

So maybe now you'll be able to read about shootings and play a game involving shootings -- all at the same time.
