A recent Google search for the JasJam phone rated a Technorati tag higher than a CNET review. (Click to enlarge) |
I'm a gadget freak. I need the latest with most buttons. Gotta have, gotta have... It's an expensive little vice: I have a great phone in my pocket, but my T-shirt and shoes have holes in them.
I was doing a search for my current obsession -- the latest 3G/HSDPA Jasjam cell phone. Like most people, I turned to Google first for information. Lo and behold, the third search result that popped up was the Technorati tag on the JasJam phone.

This represents the voice of the bloggers. In fact, in fourth place was another Jasjam review by the global authority on all things tech,
CNET (the Australian version). While CNET is online media, it's till a "traditional media" brand.
This just shows that the power of the blogosphere (what bloggers are saying about this brand of cell phone) will influence purchasing decisions. Also, bloggers' views are highly visible in Google -- even ahead of some traditional media brands.
Seems to me this trend is increasing. What do you think? Please comment below.
I completely agree with this article. An increasing trend online...
