A brief postscript to my earlier item: Apparently the New York Times hasn't updated its ad server system yet. They just offered me a "no-risk 14-day free trial" on Times Select, which goes defunct tomorrow.

I guess they won't have to offer pro-rated rebates on those subscriptions.
