Many people think
Twitter may be overhyped (it probably is); we've sure been talking about it a lot here on E-Media Tidbits,
especially recently. But comScore's recent stats on the microblogging service offers some mind-blowing insight into Twitter's growth.
Erick Schonfeld of TechCrunch reports, "If it seems like Twitter is growing faster and faster each day, that is because it is. ComScore has released its March numbers for the U.S., and it estimates that unique visitors to Twitter.com grew 131 percent between February and March to 9.3 million visitors."
This comes on the heels of an announcement from comScore touting Twitter's continued year over year growth, "Over the past several months, we at comScore have watched how quickly traffic to Twitter has exploded. Worldwide visitors to Twitter approached 10 million in February, up an impressive 700+% vs. (a) year ago. The past two months alone have seen worldwide visitors climb more than 5 million visitors. U.S. traffic growth has been just as dramatic, with Twitter reaching 4 million visitors in February, up more than 1,000% from a year ago."
