Be aware if bloggers defend newspapers...
Hans Kullin, the author of the Swedish media blog
Media Culpa (yes, it's English-language), has just published some
statistics on newspaper blogs in Sweden.
He counted 42 blogs from 17 Swedish newspapers. Sixty percent of them
don't allow comments, and some even lack permalinks. Funny, the comment
he got from fellow blogger
Pelle:
"Well, I ain't suprised. If you have looked at the blog who won the
Swedish Internetworlds competetion about being the best in the country
it doesn't feature comments either. Therefore it must be hard for the
newspaper to get a view about what a blog really is." So, newspapers, be
aware: if you're being pitied by your potential audience for not being
well-informed, how are you going to convince them that your Web sites
are the place to look for news?
