New York Times journalists been using the Newsroom Navigator, an online directory of useful Web sites, as part of their reporting for more than 10 years.

The site is freely available on nytimes.com and a great resource for all journalists, whether you work at The New York Times or not.

The site is maintained as a labor of love by the Times' Rich Meislin, the paper's associate managing editor for Internet publishing and a former technology news editor.

The New York Times also has a number of other "navigators" online about various subjects (several of which are also maintained by Meislin):
And the site has "navigators" for students, teachers and parents as well.
