Jerry Rothstein notes that the value of the Times Company's public shares is currently $3.66 billion. "It would extraordinary if the [Sulzberger] family had to give the public more than a 50% premium over the price in the public market. ...$10 billion would mean that the family would pay the public almost three times the freely traded price. Not likely on this planet."
