Pat McHugh is an investor or if he just recruited others to put up the money. The offer was made "to keep the paper operating and to retain the work force," a source tells
Renita Fennick. The Times Leader's rival, Times-Shamrock, is also
interested in buying the paper and possibly shutting it down.
