The Tribune's Phil Rosenthal says his paper's biggest slip-up so far in covering the Tribune-Chandler spat was failing to spot the SEC filing disclosing the Chandlers' dissatisfaction with the stock buyback. "We learned of it on Page 1 of the Wall Street Journal," he writes. "While some accused us of deliberately hiding the news, we just blew it. There's nothing more embarrassing than getting scooped on your own company, yet if we somehow had the story first, some would say it was simply handed to us."
